About this course
AI Explorers K-2 is a 12-week AI literacy course for kindergarten to grade 2, guided by Nova, the crew's AI companion drone. Short daily lessons read aloud with word highlighting, tap-to-answer checks, a hands-on Explorer Lab with paper and toys, a daily sight word, and a Saturday Explorer Quest for the whole family. Kids learn how computers sense, sort, spot patterns and learn from examples, why AI can be wrong, and how to keep private things private. Everything is unplugged: no child ever talks to a real AI tool. 100% free, start to finish.
Kids will
- Explain that AI is a tool people build, not a person
- Name the sensors a computer uses to see and hear
- Sort things by features and spot patterns to make a guess
- Show how examples help a computer learn, and why more kinds of examples help
- Know that AI can be wrong and check with a grown-up
- Keep private information private
