About this course

Fox & Fern Kitchen is a 12-week cooking course for third to fifth grade. Each week teaches one kitchen skill, from clean hands and safe temperatures to measuring, fractions, scaling a recipe and writing your own recipe card, and ends with a Family Cook Day. A grown-up always handles the stove, oven and knives, and every recipe has an allergy swap. Every week is free.

Kids will

  • Follow the four food-safety steps: clean, separate, cook and chill
  • Measure with cups, spoons and a kitchen scale
  • Use fractions to halve, double and scale a recipe
  • Read a recipe in order and explain why each step happens
  • Spot allergy words on a label and choose a safe swap
  • Write a clear recipe card of your own
